Who we are:
Located in the heart of the city, School no. 5 was founded in 1960. As a tribute, the school is named after C. Popescu, a former student of the school, who translated M. Eminescu’s poems into English. His version is considered by the British a standard of poetry translations. The British Council Award for Translation of Poetry from a Foreign Language still bears his name.
