1) Slurp Kids
Another food education project our school has taken part in is Slurp Kids, a pilot project promoted by Umbria region.
Developing in children and young people the knowledge and interest in a healthy and varied diet, so as to combat childhood obesity, while at thesame time giving catering entrepreneurs tools to become more and more kids friendly, is the goal of the Slurp Kids project , child-friendly catering,conceived and promoted by the innovative social startup Med in Eat,created with the partner Università dei Sapori of Perugia, with thesupport of Confcommercio Umbria and Confcommercio Todi and the patronage of the Municipality of Todi.Thanks to the involvement of primary schools, 22 children aged between 6 and 8 underwent a food education course based on the “Charter of food rights for growth” conceived by Med in Eat and inspired by the Mediterranean diet, to become a sort of little food critics.

2) “Milk in schools”
Our school adheres to the program “Milk in schools”, a food education campaign on the consumption of milk and dairy products aimed at primary school children aged between 6 and 11, completely free of charge. This initiative intends to sensitize primary school students and their families to increase the consumption of milk and dairy products and to raise awareness of the benefits of a varied and balanced diet, in a manner consistent with the most careful nutritional indications. Milk in schools program is implemented annually by the Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies, in collaboration with Unioncamere, some Italian Chambers of Commerce and CREA -Council for Agricultural Research and Analysis of the Agricultural Economy.

3)”Fruit and vegetables in schools”
“Fruit and vegetables in schools” is a program promoted by the European Union,implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry, and carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Merit, the Ministry of Health, Agea , the Regions and Autonomous Provinces of Trento and Bolzano. The program is aimed at children attending primary school (6-11 years) and aims to increase the consumption of fruit and vegetables and raise awareness of the benefits of a healthy diet.To this end, the goal of the program is to: disseminate the value and meaning of the seasonality of products; promote the involvement of families so that the food education process started at school also continues in the family environment; spread the importance of certified quality: products with designation of origin (PDO,PGI), organic production; raise pupils’ awareness of respect for the environment, deepening the issues related to the reduction of food waste. The accompanying measures planned by the Ministry have as a priority objective
that of “informing” and developing a conscious consumption of fruit and vegetables, favoring the distribution of fresh products. The program provides for the creation of specific themed days, such as visits to educational farms, tasting courses, activation of sensory laboratories, in order to encourage children to consume fruit and vegetables and support them in achieving healthy eating habits.
